About STC
Objects chosen with intention
STC selects each item for how it looks, feels, and holds up over time. We look for tactile honesty, durability, and everyday usefulness, so every piece earns a place in the things people keep.
How we select
Finish, proportion, and longevity
We begin with the physical object. Each item is judged on its finish, the balance of its proportions, and the way its materials age. A well-made thing should feel right in the hand and still look right years later.
We also look at where things come from. Where a maker or workshop is known, we keep that origin visible, so the story behind an object is as clear as the object itself.

What we look for
Items worth giving and keeping
An item earns its place when it rewards long-term use. We favor objects that are useful every day, that improve with handling, and that do not need an occasion to justify them. Quiet utility matters more to us than novelty.
When you browse the store, start with who the gift is for and what they would actually enjoy using or keeping. Then take a moment with the details, since finish and balance often make the choice clearer.
